Bordered by US-10 on the south, Cherry Valley Township is located on the southeast border of Lake County. Baldwin is only 4 miles to the west, and Reed City is 8 miles to the east. More than three-fourths of the township are included in the Pere Marquette State Forest. Fed by freshwater swamps and Sanborn Creek, the Baldwin River begins right here in Cherry Valley Township.  You can access the river on the Western side of the township, about 2 miles north of US-Highway 10 on Forman Road.
